Mineral City, Ohio (June 1, 2016) — The Welcome Center at Atwood Lake Park is open to the public. It is the first major project to be completed under the $160 million Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) Master Plan.
The master plan, developed by Woolpert in 2013, addresses the five major parks and several marinas in the watershed. It involves the renovation and addition of campgrounds, and the rehabilitation of outdated, aging and insufficient infrastructure.
The $2 million Welcome Center is part of the $21 million Atwood Lake Park project, for which Woolpert is providing design and construction support.
The MWCD campgrounds development project is expected to be completed in 2022.
