Woolpert Selected for Orthoimagery Collection in Florida

St. Augustine, Fla. (Jan. 29, 2016) — Woolpert has been contracted to collect orthoimagery of St. Johns County, Fla., it was announced today.

The six-inch resolution, multispectral digital imagery, collected for the entire 776 square miles, will be used by multiple departments throughout the county for property appraisal, tax evaluation, planning and economic development.

“We are pleased to be selected once again by St. Johns County,” said Eric Cole, Woolpert project manager. “We have been providing imagery, lidar and surveying services for the county now for 20 years.”

Cole added that since St. Johns County is on the Atlantic Coast, the collection has to be flown at low, low tide to include all land area and tidal flats.

“That can be a challenge because that’s a small window of time, and you have to monitor the tide closely,” he said. “But we’ve done this project and others like it, and done them well. The client’s always happy.”

The St. Johns County orthoimagery collection began this month.
