Fairfax, VA—May 26, 2015 – Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has hired James Bennett, PE, as an associate vice president and the manager of the firm’s Gainesville, Virginia, office. His primary responsibilities will include managing and oversight of the full-service engineering, planning, and surveying operations based in Gainesville.
Bennett has more than thirty years of experience in consulting, design services, and development in the Commonwealth of Virginia that will support Dewberry’s operations statewide. He most recently served as the vice president of land planning, design, development, and construction at Jamestown Management Company. His latest projects include the master plan/land plan, site engineering, development construction, and architectural coordination of a 15,000-square-foot clubhouse for the Settlement at Powhatan Creek Active Adult Community and the development and construction of an 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse expansion, and three support facilities for the Williamsburg National Golf Club “Yorktown” Course.

Bennett received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a Professional Engineer in Virginia.
