B2B Veterans Join Vector1 Media to Push Multimedia Platforms

An unprecedented convergence of technology offers new engagement opportunities

May 9, 2014, Denver, CO —Vector1 Media LLC welcomes new members Kevin Carmody and Patrick Krill, along with circulation expert Cindy Cardinal, to extend the Informed Infrastructure brand and capitalize onthe fast-paced transformation taking place in the AEC market. These seasoned business-to-business (B2B) publishing veterans add a depth of user-centered insight that will translate into a greater reach and interaction within the marketplace.

Vector1 Media is a global integrated media and learning company serving organizations and individuals that measure, model and manage our natural world, as well as those that design, develop, and engineer our built infrastructure. The company is focused on a better understanding of Earth systems, while also engaged in the creation of a better performing built infrastructure through simulation, specification of products, networked sensing, and model-based design. This new infusion of talent follows the launch of a new video portal, GeoSpatial Stream.

Carmody and Krill join the management team at Vector1 Media to drive sales and marketing, with founder Matt Ball focusing on editorial content and direction. Cardinal will apply her expertise on growing the audience for all aligned Vector1 Media publications.

These individuals bring experience and accomplishments:
• Kevin Carmody spent 10 years working on CE News and Structural Engineer magazines where he helped create a multimedia powerhouse that included an accredited eLearning platform. Carmody has spent almost 20 years in media and has also been employed at major media houses like Penton Media and McGraw Hill.
• Patrick Krill has 20 years of sales and marketing experience and worked with Carmody at CE News and Structural Engineer for 3 years helping clients in this space with integrated marketing programs.
• Cindy Cardinal has more than 20 years of B2B experience running her own consulting firm that specializes in audience development for BPA audited print and digital magazines.

“The technology evolution taking place in the AEC market also comes with technology convergence, where tools for model-based design and reality capture are dramatically changing workflows,” stated Matt Ball. “Having this new influx of talent will help us reach and inform readers as well as aid vendors through this disruptive change.”

“It’s the right time to invest and take leadership in forging a new multimedia organization with thought leadership in both the AEC and geospatial space,” said Kevin Carmody. “We have an opportunity to build unrepresented user engagement with the AEC community covering the wide range of infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, buildings, rail, and not least water. This is an exciting time with new technologies on both the design and implementation stages of construction projects.”

“I’m excited to be involved in forging a recapitalized multimedia organization,” said Patrick Krill. “What particularly excites me is the ever-changing world for construction and being able to provide content that will go from the design stage to specification and the completion of projects"

These energized individuals see a bright future for media that engages and guides an audience that is witnessing rapid technological change for improved work outcomes.

"In the end, we want to engage our readers with the most useful information in the industry,” said Carmody. “These are very smart and technical professionals and they need an editorial product that enables them to make informed decisions. We are putting together an editorial advisory board that will, under Matt’s direction, provide them with the tools to achieve this end.”
