Chris Heliotes, LSIT, joins Westlake after nine years in Nevada where he worked with a large multi-disciplinary firm to develop and manage their 3D scanning capabilities. He will spearhead Westlake’s growing 3D laser scanning division.
His 14 years of field and office survey experience using AutoCAD, Leica Cyclone, Revit, and Navisworks have been key to his success in execution of laser scanning projects.
His project experience includes scanning of Yankee Stadium for historic preservation, scanning of the Fernley Levee Breach for the US Bureau of Reclamation to analyze reasons for failure and to support design for levee repair, and for the Phoenix I-10 Deck Park Tunnel for Arizona DOT maintenance planning. In Seattle, he scanned the interstitial spaces of 8 floors for seismic retrofit of a Glaxos Smith Kline production facility, and then integrated that existing conditions data into their BIM model.
One of Chris’ first projects for Westlake was the scanning of an elevator shaft for Portland Community College.
