Altus Positioning Signs Apex-Nav as Dealer in France, Belgium, and Northwest Africa

Torrance, Calif. – Dec. 11, 2012 – Altus Positioning Systems has named Apex-Nav as a dealer for its GNSS surveying products in France, Belgium, and Northwest Africa.

Apex-Nav, based in Orvault in the Loire-Atlantique Region of France, will sell and service Altus products, including the new APS-3L and APS-U, which were just introduced by Altus to the world surveying market at INTERGEO 2012. The APS-3L is the first GNSS surveying instrument to offer embedded L-band TERRASTAR-D precise point positioning (PPP) differential capability as well as high-precision real-time kinematic (RTK). The APS-U will also feature strongly in the Apex-Nav portfolio with its appeal to the offshore community for its L-band, Heading ability as well as land-based machine control applications for demanding environments.

“We see tremendous potential for the APS-3L product in the French, Belgian, and African markets, especially in the agriculture, oil/gas, forestry, mining and construction sectors,” said Christophe Lebeaupin, president, Apex-Nav. “It provides real-time global decimeter-level positioning accuracy without the need for a reference station through the use of satellite L-band corrections when outside the range of terrestrial wireless networks.”

“The Apex-Nav team brings more than 30 years of experience in precise GNSS positioning,” said Neil Vancans, president and CEO of Altus Positioning Systems. “Our appointment of Apex-Nav as a distribution partner in these important regions is part of our strategic growth plan through key relationships with companies offering technical expertise and after-sales support.”
