Jacksonville, Fla. (August 27, 2012) – Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc. was named among Inc. magazine’s “500 Fastest Growing Companies”. Released last week, the list ranks companies across the country based on measured growth from 2008 through 2011. Petticoat-Schmitt was ranked number 454 overall and ranked number 15 in the construction category. To qualify, companies must have been founded and begun generating a certain threshold of revenue by March 2008 and another threshold of revenue in 2011. Qualifying companies must also be U.S.-based, private, for profit, and independent of other companies as of December 31, 2011.

The companies of the Inc. 500 represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found on Inc.com.
The company also announced that it has hired Brandon Forrest to oversee estimating and business development. Brandon will also provide strategic analysis and planning for the Company. “This is a new and significant position for our organization,” Schmitt said. “We have a competent team that has helped Petticoat-Schmitt continue to grow and Brandon will further enhance our ability to reach out to current and prospective clients. He has an impressive background with a 20-year profitability track record. We are fortunate to have him on our team.”
Prior to joining Petticoat-Schmitt, Mr. Forrest was vice president for Florida at Baker Construction where conducted strategic planning, business development and general management. Prior to that, he held similar positions for Triangle Grading and Paving and C.A. Barrs Contractors, Inc. Additionally, Mr. Forrest was president and owner of a family-owned site work and utility company in Virginia during the 1990’s. Mr. Forrest earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. He is a certified Florida general contractor, as well as a certified underground utility and excavation contractor, class V sprinkler contractor, and has his Florida fire protection contractor license.
