Carlson Software Expanding

Product demand increasing for independent company

Maysville, Ky., U.S.A. (May 24, 2012) – As the company approaches its 30th anniversary, Carlson Software is in the midst of a hiring surge, a process that will continue throughout 2012.

In just the first five months, staff levels have grown by more than 15 percent, with positions still open for IT Manager, California-based Regional Sales Director with CAD skills, and programmers with C, C++ and gaming backgrounds.

Carlson Software, founded in 1983 by Bruce Carlson, develops technically advanced software and integrated hardware providing full project life cycle solutions to land development and mining professionals.  The industries served include land surveying, civil engineering, construction/machine control, mining, agriculture, and crime/accident reconstruction. The company is based in Maysville, Kentucky, with branch offices in Boston, Massachusetts; Almere, The Netherlands; Zurich, Switzerland; Australia and Central America.

“Most of the hiring and expansion in 2012 has been in Europe, with recent M&A activity involving Swiss and U.K.-based staff,” says Carlson, who, as president, continues to lead the company. “An additional five highly skilled programmers from within the CAD industry have joined Carlson, most to be based out of the Boston office here in the U.S.”

Carlson attributes the company’s recent growth spurt and record levels of product demand to Carlson Software continuing to pursue its goal of providing independent, multi-platform software solutions for surveying, civil engineering, mining and construction.

“We feel strongly that companies and individuals are looking for versatility in their software and hardware choices,” notes Carlson. “As brands become interchangeable commodities, software and service are moving to the forefront in terms of value.”
