RETTEW Welcomes Jones and Marriott

Lancaster, Pa. — RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm providing engineering, transportation, environmental consulting, planning and surveying services, recently welcomed new hires Kelly M. Jones, PE, and Jennifer M. Marriott, PWS. Jones and Marriott work in RETTEW’s Pittsburgh office.

Kelly M. Jones, PE
Jones is a civil/highway engineer in the firm’s Pittsburgh transportation group. She manages the design and plan production processes for all roadway reconstruction projects for the firm’s natural gas clients in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She also assists with pursuing traditional highway transportation projects, performing design services for roadway reconstruction projects and developing the transportation staff in RETTEW’s Pittsburgh office.

Jones has 12 years of combined experience in transportation engineering and environmental science, which includes highway design, project management and transportation environmental analysis. Jones’ highway design experience includes all aspects of geometrics, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, pavement design, utilities, right of way, erosion and sedimentation and project management. She is also well versed in corridor widenings, intersection improvements, roadway reconstruction, bridge replacements and truck weigh station development.

In addition to private-sector work, Jones has managed projects on all levels of government, including the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the New York State Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpike Commissions. As an environmental scientist, she has performed all categories of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document preparation, which has enabled her to develop roadway designs while considering potential natural, cultural and socioeconomic impacts.

A licensed professional engineer, Jones has a bachelor’s degree in environmental resource management from Penn State University and a master’s degree in transportation engineering from Villanova University. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Highway Engineers, the Women’s Transportation Seminar and the Penn State Alumni Association. Jones resides in Bellevue, Allegheny County, Pa.

Jennifer M. Marriott, PWS
Marriott is an environmental scientist responsible for obtaining the appropriate environmental permits and clearances for one of RETTEW’s key natural gas clients; she works with governmental agencies in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Additionally, Marriott also prepares reports and performs research, wetland identification and hydric soil identification, and she is responsible for project coordination for culvert permitting in West Virginia.

Marriott has eight years of environmental permitting experience, which includes residential and commercial permitting and floodplain evaluations. She has worked on sites that have ranged in size from less than an acre to more than 1,500 acres, and she has performed site evaluations, field coordination, delineations, habitat identification, risk assessments and wetland quality assessments. Marriott’s experience also includes mitigation plans for both freshwater and estuarine systems, wildlife surveys, vegetation surveys, water quality/water level studies and well field management.

A professional wetland scientist (PWS), Marriott has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Central Florida, a master’s degree in biology/ecology from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in soil science from the University of Florida. Marriott is a member of the Ecological Society of America, the Soil Science Society of America, the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Soil and Water Conservation Society. She resides in Allison Park, Allegheny County, Pa.
