RETTEW Welcomes Prout as Project Manager

Focus Includes Natural Gas and Alternative Energy 

Lancaster, Pa. – RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm providing engineering, transportation, environmental consulting, planning and surveying services, recently welcomed Ethan E. Prout, PG, as a project manager in the firm’s environmental sciences group.

“Ethan’s experience as a project manager working in the natural gas and alternative energy market sectors will serve our clients well,” said Mark Lauriello, PE, president, RETTEW. “I welcome Ethan to RETTEW.”

As project manager, Prout is primarily responsible for providing project management and oversight of projects relating to natural gas exploration and drilling in the Marcellus Shale play; specifically, his focus includes water resource management and permitting. He also provides business development support in the renewable and conventional energy market sectors and is responsible for managing projects involving Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Act 2 environmental investigations, due diligence and permitting. 

With more than 12 years of experience as a project manager and hydrogeologist, Prout has worked on numerous multidisciplinary projects involving geologic, hydrogeologic and environmental investigations, due diligence, environmental assessments and permitting. He has managed projects regarding natural gas exploration in the Marcellus Shale play and has served as client manager and project manager on utility scale wind energy projects, both in the United States and internationally.

A professional geologist in Pennsylvania, Prout has a bachelor’s degree in geosciences from Hobart College and a master’s degree in geology from Temple University. He has presented his work on karst hydrogeology and is a member of the American Geological Institute, Geological Society of America, American Wind Energy Association, the Pennsylvania Council of Professional Geologists and the National Groundwater Association. He is a resident of Doylestown, Bucks County, Pa., and was recently appointed by the Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors to serve on the Doylestown Township Environmental Advisory Council.
