Critigen Hires David Day to Lead Next-Gen Transformation of Energy Infrastructure

New Vice President Comes from Accenture with 20 Years in Energy IT Consulting Field

Greenwood Village, Colo., February 15, 2010 – Critigen, a global technology consultancy for critical infrastructure, today announced David Day as vice president of its energy division. Day previously served as senior partner with Accenture’s energy global practice and has significant experience with information technology strategy and business consulting, systems integration and outsourcing as well as prior expertise leading large engagements for clients across upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas functions.

“Critigen is always striving to be on the cutting edge of business in the areas that are relevant to our clients, and David adds to our already deep expertise in the energy sector,” said Jeff Akers, CEO of Critigen. “In the new energy economy, we need to extract, deliver and utilize energy smarter than ever before. It’s going to take fresh thinking and a lot of hard work to successfully transform the old paradigms of our critical energy infrastructure into a next-generation model. We believe David is the kind of talent Critigen can put to good use in this endeavor.”

In his tenure at Accenture, Day led the growth of Accenture’s Canadian energy practice from inception to a thriving and permanent part of the local economy. He also secured the company’s first outsourcing contract in Calgary with a large natural gas producer in a five-year arrangement and architected the delivery of Accenture’s services.

“Critigen’s process is based on breaking down the individual silos of critical infrastructure and recognizing each piece as part of a holistic system,” said Day. “I believe in that vision; I’m interested in being a part of a company that can shift the old paradigms.”
