Brent Schwarz Named as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Velodyne

Morgan Hill, CA (January 18, 2010) — Velodyne Lidar, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high definition lidar sensors, today announced the appointment of Brent Schwarz to the position of vice president of sales and marketing. A 20-year veteran with proven success in sales and channel development, Schwarz will be responsible for implementing strategic marketing programs to educate customers on the benefits of using Velodyne’s lidar sensors in 3-D mobile mapping and autonomous navigation systems. He will also collaborate with potential customers on the best methods for utilizing lidar technology in new products and services.

“Brent brings extensive experience at start-ups as well as established enterprises where his sales experience and passion for marketing has propelled companies to the next level,” said Bruce Hall, president of Velodyne. “Brent’s strong background, especially in GPS technology, will be a tremendous benefit as more companies utilize our sensor in creating 3-D models to improve the performance and reliability of autonomous navigation systems and to collect 3-D data for use in GIS, smartphones, car navigation devices and other applications.”

As a seasoned sales professional, Schwarz has held sales management roles at leading technology companies including Magellan Navigation, Intel and On Command Corporation. Schwarz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
