West Joins Merrick & Company as Survey Director

Aurora, CO – June 2, 2009 – Matt West PLS has joined Merrick & Company as Director of Surveying, according to Brian Raber, vice president of Merrick’s geospatial solutions business unit.  In this role, West will oversee the strategic expansion of Merrick’s surveying practice.  His responsibilities at Merrick include operational leadership, strategic planning, business development, technology innovation, and career mentoring.

West’s career has focused on the energy, transportation, land development, and water resource market sectors.  Most recently, he served as a vice president, regional survey manager, with David Evans and Associates in their Bellevue, Washington office, where he was responsible for the Puget Sound business unit.  These responsibilities entailed financial performance management, business development, and leadership of the regional energy business line.  West is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and a member of the American Wind Energy Association, Society of Military Engineers, National Society of Professional Surveyors, and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.
