Vertical Mapping Resources Expands Into Northern California

Bill Swope Named Regional Manager of Sacramento Area Office; Bret Okraski Named Principal

Scottsdale, Ariz. (Aug. 6, 2008) – Vertical Mapping Resources Inc., a leading integrated aerial mapping and geospatial land information company, is expanding into Northern California. The company, which is headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., and has an office in Dana Point, Calif., recently named Bill Swope regional manager of consulting and development for the firm’s new Sacramento area office. The new address is 13389 Folsom Blvd., #300-304, in Folsom, Calif.    

In this role, Swope will work with professionals in the civil engineering and surveying industries to develop new business relationships and manage new client accounts. He will also assist with the company’s marketing efforts and reach out to utility companies and federal, county and state municipalities regarding their various land information needs.

“Bill is a tremendous asset because he brings more than a decade of business development and sales experience to our team,” said Kurt Okraski, CEO of Vertical Mapping Resources. “He’s been based out of our Arizona office for the past year and we’re looking forward to having him lead our expansion in the Sacramento area.”

Prior to his position with Vertical Mapping Resources, Swope served as a regional account manager for Auralog Inc., an award-winning developer of language-learning software. He has more than 15 years experience in software sales, including a position as regional account manager for Pearson Digital Learning.

Swope is a member of the Arizona Professional Land Surveyors and the Society for Marketing Professional Services. He also serves on Valley Partnership’s Community Partnership Committee and is a past volunteer with the Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County. He looks forward to continuing his professional development and philanthropic activities in the Sacramento area. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska.

Bret Okraski Named Principal
In related personnel news, Vertical Mapping Resources Inc. has also appointed Bret Okraski to the role of principal. He will also maintain his current position as director of consulting and development.

Okraski joins President Joseph Bartorelli, CEO Kurt Okraski and Chief Surveyor Thomas Liuzzo as executive team members/principals of this rapidly growing firm with offices in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Dana Point, Calif., and Sacramento, Calif.

In 2002, Okraski joined VMR to oversee business development efforts and brought with him more than 10 years experience in the architectural, engineering and construction industries. He is responsible for company-wide sales efforts at VMR and has worked to establish long-lasting relationships with clients that have played a major role in VMR’s success to date.

“Bret has a strong ethical foundation in his business dealings and works closely with his clients to achieve their goals,” Bartorelli said. “His diligent work ethic and attention to detail has resulted in outstanding relationships with our clients, both old and new.”

Okraski is an associate member of Valley Partnership, Arizona Professional Land Surveyors, California Professional Land Surveyors and the American Council of Engineering Companies in Arizona and California. He completed his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Boston University.
