National Survey & Engineering Announces Certifications, Promotions of Staff

Brookfield, Wis. – National Survey & Engineering, a division of R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc. — civil engineering, planning, surveying, landscape architecture, GIS and 3D visualization consultants — Brookfield, Wis., announces several employee promotions and the attainment of professional certifications, as listed below.

Sean Gehin, land development services division, Brookfield, has earned the title of Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC). Requirements for certification include the completion of professional level experience in soil and erosion sediment control and passing a written examination designed to determine proficiency in the principles, practices, and legislation of erosion and sediment control. The CPESC certification program is sponsored by the Soil and Water Conservation Society and the International Erosion Control Association, in cooperation with the American Society of Agronomy. Sean lives in Wauwatosa.

Andy Hunter, survey division, Oshkosh, has been promoted from survey field technician to project surveyor. He also received his registration as land surveyor (R.L.S.) in Wisconsin. This license is issued by the Examining Board for Architects, Engineers, Designers and Surveyors and is necessary to practice land surveying in Wisconsin. This includes describing, locating, monumenting and mapping property boundary lines as well as preparing typical survey documents including subdivision plats, certified survey maps, plats of survey and land title surveys. Andy lives in Omro.

Drew Miazga, survey division, Brookfield, has been promoted from survey technician to project surveyor. He also received his registered land surveyor (R.L.S.) license in Wisconsin. Drew lives in Wauwatosa.

Ricky Smith, land development services division, Brookfield, has been promoted from civil engineer to project manager. Ricky lives in Milwaukee.

Tiffany Tritt, survey division, Appleton, has successfully satisfied the requirements to become a certified survey technician (CST). The CST program is designed to recognize those in the surveying profession who have demonstrated the technical competence to perform survey tasks. This national program is sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and the American Congress in Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) and is endorsed by the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors. Tiffany lives in Oshkosh.

Nathan Vaughn, survey division, Brookfield, has successfully satisfied the requirements to become a certified survey technician (CST). Nathan lives in Whitewater.
