Langan Promotes Costello to Senior Principal

Five Associates Become Shareholders in the Firm

Elmwood Park, New Jersey (May 28, 2010) – Langan Engineering & Environmental Services officially announced that Colleen Costello, PG, has been promoted to Senior Principal, and that Caryn Barnes, LSRP; Mark Devaney, LEED AP; Eric Schwarz, PE, LEED AP; Mark Seel, PE, PG; and Beverly Williams, SPHR have become shareholders in the firm. Langan, a privately held company, now has 14 Principals and 37 Senior Associates.

Langan’s newest Senior Principal, Colleen Costello, PG, possesses more than 20 years of experience directing comprehensive site investigations and remedial activities for Brownfield Redevelopment, State Voluntary, RCRA, and Superfund projects.  Her expertise includes the application of risk-based criteria to complete site characterizations and the design of cost effective solutions for complex sites.  She also specializes in implementing Exit Strategies by utilizing innovative regulatory and technical approaches.  A sought after speaker at national environmental forums, Costello was selected to be one of the nine national trainers for ASTM’s Remediation of Groundwater by Natural Attenuation Standard and supported the development of Washington’s Department of Ecology’s “Guidance on Remediation of Petroleum-Contaminated Ground Water By Natural Attenuation.”

The five new Senior Associates reflect Langan’s growing diversity of leadership. Barnes, LSRP, is an environmental leader in Langan’s Philadelphia office. Devaney, LEED AP, is the firm’s Director of Business Development and Marketing. Schwarz, PE, LEED AP, a site/civil engineer, leads Langan projects in Florida and throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Seel, PE, PG, a geotechnical engineer, leads foundation, slope stability, and tunneling projects around the country. Williams, SPHR, is the Corporate Director of Human Resources at Langan.
