Aurora, Colorado – Sept. 8, 2008 — Matthew Knudsen, P.E. has been appointed vice president of Merrick & Company according to Ralph W. Christie, Jr. P.E., board chair, president, and chief executive officer. In his new role, Knudsen will be responsible for overseeing Merrick’s continued growth in the alternative fuels and energy sector.
“We’re excited to have Matt as one of our vice presidents. His experience, knowledge, and expertise at this next level in the company will serve as a solid base for the firm as we continue to grow our renewable/alternative and clean energy revenues,” according to Christie.
Knudsen has been with Merrick for 19 years and is an expert in program management, process development, specialty equipment design, and engineering/procurement/construction management (EPCM) project execution in the energy sector. His current responsibilities involve overseeing the operations of Merrick’s Fuels & Energy business unit. He is a member of the Process Industry Practices’ executive steering committee. Prior to joining Merrick, he was employed at Owens Corning Fiberglas where he was responsible for small capital projects in a manufacturing setting. Knudsen holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and a M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado.
