Cary and Associates Announces New Market Report
Longmont, Colo., 24 August 2004 — Cary and Associates of Longmont, Colo., announces the release of a market report "U.S. Federal Procurement of Geotechnology 2003." Geotechnology spending reported to the Federal Procurement Data System by federal agencies exceeded $6 billion for the first time. This represents an increase of nearly eight percent over 2002.
A follow-on to last year’s report for federal fiscal years (FY) 2000-2002, this report identifies 73 agencies that purchased a range of geotechnology products and services from 307 companies during FY 2003. Geotechnology is broadly defined to include a number of related fields, such as data conversion and digitizing, satellite and aerial imagery, environmental management and consulting, GIS consulting and application development, mapping services, and professional engineering services.
The 42-page report focuses on the ten top-spending agencies; they account for 92% of federal spending in geotechnology. The top ten vendors in six categories are identified for each of those agencies. The list of top ten vendors is dominated by consulting firms, consistent with the finding that spending on services accounted for 69% of geotechnology spending for the year. More than ten percent of the vendors may be new suppliers: they were not reported as providers of geotechnology products or services in the three prior years.
"This report includes the web addresses of the reported vendors," said company president Tina Cary, Ph.D. "This saves our clients time by putting them within one click of learning about competitors and potential strategic partners."
The product description and order form are available at http://CaryandAssociates.com. The price of a site license for up to 100 employees is $230.
