The HSRP is focused on navigation, observations and positioning and is tasked to provide strategic recommendations to NOAA. The HSRP reports to the NOAA Administrator and Dr. Rick Spinrad has asked them to be broad in their review of NOAA and with their recommendations. One of the areas the HSRP members have an ongoing interest and focus is the data backbone of the NOS products that help to support resilience and climate change – especially the data, products, and services from NGS, OCS and CO-OPS as well as NWS. This agenda reflects NOAA and HSRP interests in navigation, observations, positioning, hydrographic surveying, mapping, GIS, geodesy, as well as NOAA’s mission on sea level rise and inundation data.
