Murrysville, PA – The Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS) has announced the firm of Miller/Wenhold Association Management has been selected to provide association management services for the organization effective June 1, 2021.
“We are thrilled to hand the reins over to Miller/Wenhold,” said Amy Hopkins, PLS, President of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors. “The firm brings an abundance of experience in association management and expertise in the surveying profession.”
A division of Miller/Wenhold Capitol Strategies, LLC, the association management firm acquired John M. Palatiello & Associates, Inc. in 2018 and rebranded the two companies earlier this year. The combined firm has more than 35 years of experience in management of and advocacy for associations in the surveying, mapping, geospatial, and engineering fields. PSLS joins a portfolio of association management clients that includes the Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS), Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS), U.S. Geospatial Executives Organization (U.S. GEO), Subsurface Utility Engineering Association (SUEA), and Council on Federal Procurement of Architectural and Engineering Services (COFPAES), as well as Federal government relations and lobbying for the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).
“We look forward to working with PSLS and working to grow and enhance the association,” said John Palatiello, Partner, Miller/Wenhold Association Management.
“Our team is grateful the leadership of PSLS has selected us to put our experience in the surveying and design-related professions to work to grow the association, implement new and innovative association management programs and techniques, and build on the strengths of PSLS,” added Palatiello.
“We needed to explore a change in the approach to management of PSLS and found Miller/Wenhold to have a solid reputation, record of success, and the knowledge of the surveying profession we’re seeking,” said Hopkins. “Miller/Wenhold is the firm to steer us in the right direction.”
Miller/Wenhold will provide association management; financial management; member communications; public and media relations services; education; conference planning and coordination services; and work with the society to develop government affairs strategies.
PSLS also announced it has retained a new lobbyist in Harrisburg. Bob Regola, President of Regola Consulting LLC, assumes representation of PSLS before state government in the Commonwealth. Regola is a licensed professional land surveyor, PSLS member, and former member of the Pennsylvania State Senate. Regola represented the 39th District from 2005 to 2009. He previously served as chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania.
“Bob Regola has the knowledge, experience, and relationships to successfully represent the surveying profession before government bodies and agencies, and will effectively serve the interests of our members, as well as protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public that surveyors serve,” said Ms. Hopkins.
