International Geomatics Group Announces Key Management Appointment

A new name in global positioning services has announced a key appointment to drive forward ambitious growth plans.

Industry veteran Trevor Hughes (left) has been named Business Development Officer at the International Geomatics Group which was launched in late 2017 and has bases in the US and UK.

He brings to the role more than 30 years of experience gained in the UK, Middle East and The Americas. Previous positions have seen Trevor play instrumental parts in driving global growth, and his new job will capitalise on that plus his extensive Middle East connectivity.

Travelling extensively, Trevor will be based in the Gulf of Mexico and will work from the company’s recently-opened Houston office which is located close to the western edge of the city’s Energy Corridor. His DGPS-specific sales experience with Racal, Thales and Ashtech will also bring benefits in his new remit at International Geomatics where he will lead the team to develop both the range and breadth of its service offerings.

Initially, this will focus on the DGNSS service line and specifically the Hemisphere ‘Atlas’ technology. This comprehensive suite of equipment incorporates a broad spectrum of hardware including an option to integrate with clients’ existing DGPS receivers, and complements the delivery of the International Geomatics’ ‘ICE’ (Innovation, Communication, Execution) value-driven philosophy.

Commenting on his new role within International Geomatics, Trevor Hughes said: “I am looking forward to playing a part in the future of this fresh, exciting new name in the industry. In particular, our alliance with Hemisphere facilitates a mature, robust global positioning solution from an industry-leading vendor. They supply a wide range of hardware solutions in the precise positioning and heading markets. The offshore industry demands cost-effective services, and ‘Atlas’ delivers this by bringing real competition into the marketplace.”

Welcoming Trevor to the team, International Geomatics’ COO Ken Adams continued: “Trevor’s addition to the senior management team comes at the right time, adding a wealth of experience and a network of global connections that will help us to deliver asset light, flexible, innovative work methodologies with our global network of solutions partners.”

International Geomatics Group was founded in late 2017 by well-known industry figures Steve Rampton (CEO) and Ken Adams (COO). It recently opened its first office on the western edge of Houston’s Energy Corridor where it anticipates recruiting up to six new members of staff by the middle of 2018.
