Mercer Island,Wash. (April 26, 2017) — Woolpert has contracted with the city of Mercer Island, Wash., to lay the groundwork for an enterprise asset management program.
In addition to performing an assessment and streamlining of business processes, Woolpert will implement the Cityworks Asset Management Solution (AMS) for the Public Works Department. This consists of administration, right-of-way, water, wastewater, stormwater, facilities, and fleet and inventory management services. The implementation is intended to streamline city operations, reduce duplication of effort and increase responsiveness to residents.
Dave Feuer, Woolpert’s director of Information Technology and Management Consulting (ITMC), said the goal of this project is to implement Cityworks for asset and maintenance management as part of a comprehensive asset management program.
“We plan to implement a scalable and effective enterprise asset management solution that provides city staff and management with the tools required to allow the city to make strategic decisions based on data and industry best practices,” Feuer said. “We intend to help the city take advantage of key industry standards, particularly PAS 55 and ISO 55000.”
Mercer Island, a small island located between Seattle’s South End and Bellevue, has a population of just over 25,000. The per capita income for the city is more than $74,000, according to the latest U.S. Census data, putting it among the top five in the state.
