- Provide authoritative and technical advice on geodetic applications and complex problems involving physical and space geodesy, precise positioning, and remote sensing.
- Formulate and implement specialized research program that advances all nationwide geodetic programs in support of defining, maintaining, and providing access to the National Spatial Reference System.
- Communicate the importance of geodetic products and services to international, federal, state, and local users of geospatial data, enhancing partnerships; and increasing transferability of geodetic tools, methods, techniques, and technologies.
