Livermore, Calif., USA/ Capelle A/D Ijssel, The Netherlands – December 17, 2015 – Sokkia releases two new editions to its CX total station series with availability in the Americas and Europe, both featuring enhanced reflectorless operation. The new CX-50 is designed to provide an entry-level option with a fast and powerful EDM. The CX-100LN is built to offer a long-range reflectorless EDM.
“Surveyors have long enjoyed the easy-to-use, high-precision, rugged and reliable CX series of total stations,” said Ray Kerwin, director of global surveying products. “The CX-50 incorporates all those time-honored Sokkia expectations, along with a reflectorless EDM of up to 350 m, and 4000 m with the use of a prism.
“Additionally, the CX-100LN features a 2000 m (6,560 ft.) non-prism pulse EDM that can measure further than non-prism instruments in this class,” said Kerwin. “The Sokkia algorithm reduces the noise associated with non-prism measurements providing an accurate result to most surfaces over longer distance. This is true for darker surfaces and wet surfaces where other non-prism fail.”
The CX-50 offers 2 and 5 arc second accuracies, a battery life of up to 15 hours, dual axis compensation, a waterproof design, and a laser pointer.
The CX-100LN provides 2 and 5 arc second accuracies, a 36-hour battery life, dual axis compensation, a laser pointer, and Bluetooth® connectivity.
“The CX-100LN is perfect for customers typically that need long range measurements such as those in the utility and mining industries,” said Kerwin.
