Registration Open for NSPS-MAPPS National Conference, April 13-16

Registration is now open for the joint National Surveying and Mapping Conference hosted by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and MAPPS April 13-16 at the Hilton Hotel in Crystal City (Arlington), VA.

Register today on the conference website, where you will also find program, sponsorship, and exhibitor information. To make your hotel reservations, click here. Conference room rates at the Hilton expire March 13, so don’t delay, as we expect rooms to sell out.

In order to be able to attend the continental breakfasts, the Keynote Luncheon (Tuesday, April 14), plenary sessions and exhibits, attendees must pay the conference registration fee.

"Collaboration: The Map to the Future" will serve as an umbrella to include plenary sessions, an exhibit hall, and social/networking activities designed to create synergy among the many vertical segments (technical disciplines, applications, and sectors) of the surveying, mapping and geospatial community. It will also feature a "conference within a conference" format in which participating organizations will hold their own meetings and conference sessions.

For NSPS members, the conference will feature the annual Student Competition, annual General Membership meeting, Committee and Board of Governors/Directors meetings, and a "Capitol Hill Day" with visits to the U.S. House and Senate by NSPS and MAPPS members. There will also be special general sessions throughout the conference dates. Capitol Hill Day, Wednesday, April 15, will feature visits with some 200 Congressional Representatives and Senators for NSPS and MAPPS members. Together, we will advance a common agenda of legislative issues that serve the public, and engage the surveying and mapping community. Plan to join your professional colleagues in an effective day of advocating for your profession. As usual, attendees will visit their respective Congressional delegations. Please contact MAPPS & NSPS staff who will make all the appointments and arrangements. Make your voice heard in this informative, educational, exciting and effective activity.

Also on the program will be a Geospatial Summit by the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), to be held on Monday afternoon, April 13 and Tuesday morning, April 14. A joint MAPPS PAC – NSPS PAC dinner will be held on Capitol Hill Tuesday evening, April 14. The cost for attending this event is a separate cost from the conference registration fee.

A licensed geospatial data forum by the Geospatial Management Office (GMO) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will be on Thursday, April 16.

Visit www.surveyingandmapping.net for more information about the conference which seeks to bring together all sectors, stakeholders, constituents, and levels of government in the surveying, mapping, and geospatial field. It will be a forum for a discussion of issues and policies, sharing of information and provision of education, and collaboration on data acquisition, processing, applications and the employment of new and emerging technology, as well as new markets.
