An innovative new calibration chamber will allow the company to provide even faster turnaround on service for the industry-leading Leica ScanStation C10, P20 and P15 laser scanners as well as future models.
Norcross, GA, April 16, 2014 – Leica Geosystems Inc. today announced that it will open a state-of-the-art laser scanner service center in May that will allow the company to service all current models of Leica ScanStation laser scanners in North America, including the Leica ScanStation C10, the Leica ScanStation P20 and the recently introduced Leica ScanStation P15, as well as any new laser scanners that will be introduced in the future. Located in Lawrenceville, GA, about 30 miles outside of Atlanta, the facility features an innovative self-contained calibration chamber called the Armadillo that is capable of performing comprehensive calibrations on two scanners simultaneously across the full temperature range of the scanners, from -25°C to more than 50°C (-13°F to 122°F).
All HDS service requests previously handled in San Ramon, Calif., will now be handled in Lawrenceville to take advantage of the unique calibration technology. The new facility is expected to open on May 19, 2014.
“Our customer base for HDS laser scanners is growing rapidly in North America because of the strength of our solutions, which combine the highest-quality sensors and most intuitive software with efficient workflows, along with superior service and support,” said Andrew Hurley, Leica Geosystems’ Geomatics Business Manager – NAFTA. “Our cutting-edge service center in Lawrenceville represents a substantial investment that will allow us to provide an even faster turnaround time on service and calibration, which will further increase the value for our customers.”
