Colorado Springs, CO (April 14, 2014) Basis Software, Inc., announced the release of the Surphaser Model 50HSX laser scanner, the first release in an upcoming line of competitively priced long range scanning products.
The Surphaser Model 50HSX is an entry level version of the popular ER_100HSX hemispherical scanner. The 50HSX offers users a Surphaser quality instrument at an entry-level price point ($58,000 USD) in a scalable package that can be upgraded to the ER_100HSX. Special introductory pricing will be available this month making the 50HSX an even more attractive solution. With up to 160m range and noise levels that are noticeably better than competing laser scanning systems, the 50HSX represents a tremendous value in data capture hardware. Best of all, the 50HSX is the first in an upcoming expansion of the Surphaser product line designed to offer more competitively priced solutions for the survey and laser scanning markets.
Additionally, Basis Software announced the opening of a new factory in Redmond, WA. This facility will substantially increase the production capacity and allow for full production cycle of all new Surphaser models. First introduced at the last year’s Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference, the IR_100 and SR_100 offer some of the lowest noise levels of any phase shift scanner at just 25 microns (0.001 in) at 2-4m ranges for SR model.
The last announcement addressed the need for collecting imagery with Surphaser scanners and introduced Basis Software’s “SurphColor” system. This camera system with a color image equivalent to 150 megapixels can be used with any model Surphaser for a high quality color capture solution that allows for the collection of photorealistic point cloud data.
