Brookfield, Wis. —R.A. Smith National — civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, geographic information systems (GIS), visualization and 3D laser scanning consultants — Brookfield, Wis., has promoted Nathan Vaughn, RLS to survey transportation manager. In his new position Nathan will coordinate and supervise four survey crews and three in-house technical personnel.
Nathan joined R.A. Smith National in 2006 as a project surveyor for transportation projects. He has extensive experience in drafting and producing standard and TPP (transportation project plat) type right-of-way plats, roadway design files, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, preliminary and final subdivision plats, certified survey maps, plats of survey, easement exhibits and property exhibits. He is also a member of R.A. Smith National’s 3D laser scanning team.
Nathan works on site at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Southeast Region as the survey data coordinator. His work at the Southeast Region has included developing several existing roadway alignments, performing survey data fusion from multiple sources and softwares, and training multiple WisDOT personnel throughout the state. He is a WisDOT Certified Trainer for Civil 3D Survey and Plat Workflows.
Nathan obtained a bachelor’s degree in geography with a minor in environmental studies from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and is a registered land surveyor. He is a resident of Johnson Creek.
