Just Released, Carlson Survey 2014 Embedded AutoCAD

Maysville, Ky., U.S.A. (September 17, 2013)— Newly released Carlson Survey 2014 Embedded AutoCAD® comes with the 2013 AutoCAD OEM engine built in. In its embedded AutoCAD version, Carlson Survey gives users the ability to directly read and write the latest AutoCAD DWG-drawing file format.

The easy-to-use, intuitive software also provides upgrades such as added support for geodetic angles, distances and areas in its core survey commands and an enhanced 3D viewer window, which provides faster zoom, pan and rotate for larger models. The enhancement also enables view pivot around current view as opposed to just overall model center.

Together with Carlson Survey 2014 version, which works on AutoCAD® versions 2004 to 2014 and comes with IntelliCAD® 7.2 built-in, Carlson Survey Embedded AutoCAD is the number one office software solution for surveyors in the United States.

“The 2014 version of Carlson Survey Embedded delivers on many customer feature requests such as the ability to lock selected points in the coordinate database to prevent modifications, and to unlock them if needed,” says David Carlson, V.P. of Development for Carlson Software. “Also, we’ve added many more ways to work with Google Earth with support for text, image and solid entities and added settings for transparency of data.”

The many improvements to 2014 Carlson Survey Embedded AutoCAD include:
• New pipe special coding in Field-to-Finish that creates pipe polylines with dimension labels and option to draw 3D pipes;
• New special code “PHOTO” in Field-to-Finish for specifying an image to attach to a point symbol;
• Point lists put in by number that can now retain their user-specified order in the Point Group Manager ;
• New command to find the intersection perpendicular from a point to another point and angle.

All versions of Carlson Survey, which benefit from nearly 30 years of continued improvement, are designed for use for land surveying, providing a full tool kit for surveyors with everything from network least squares to surface modeling. Users get the ability to work seamlessly between the office and the field and they can establish company-wide design styles to ease and speed their work.

Along with Carlson Survey Embedded AutoCAD for 2014, Carlson Software is also releasing Carlson Takeoff R7, its project-estimating and modeling software solution for site and heavy highway contractors, which also features industry-specific improvements.
