Houston, Texas – DotProduct LLC announced today that it has appointed Tom Greaves as Vice President of Marketing and Sales effective June 27, 2013. The appointment of Greaves marks the next step for DotProduct’s launch of its low-cost DPI-7 3D scanner for engineering, construction, manufacturing, building, media and entertainment and law enforcement applications. DotProduct’s technology captures photo realistic 3D data using low cost, off-the-shelf tablet and sensor hardware.

Most recently, Greaves was executive director of CyArk, a non-profit headquartered in Oakland, California with the mission of digitally preserving cultural heritage sites and structures using advanced 3D imaging technologies for conservation and education purposes. Previously Greaves served as managing director of SPAR Point Group, a media and conference organization he co-founded in 2003 and later sold in 2009. SPAR Point Group publishes SPARView industry newsletter and continues to mount the popular SPAR conferences launched by Greaves on 3D imaging technologies for engineering, construction and manufacturing executives in Texas, Japan and the Netherlands.

Greaves received his S.M. in Management of Technology from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.Sc. in Physics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver and his B.Sc. in Physics from Queen’s University at Kingston.
