KS Associates, Inc., a civil engineering and land surveying firm located in Elyria, Ohio, announces the appointment of Michael D. Jones, P.S., to the firm’s Survey Group. The KS Associates Survey Group provides responsive, quality surveying services to public and private clients primarily throughout Ohio and across state lines when needed.
Jones is a Professional Surveyor licensed in Ohio with more than 10 years of surveying and mapping experience. He has performed surveying services for transportation, right of way, utility infrastructure, site development, oil and gas, and environmental projects. He is adept in all facets of surveying including records research, preparation of boundary surveys and legal descriptions, ALTA/ACSM surveys, right-of-way plan development, control, aerial targeting, topographic surveys, as-builts, construction staking, CAD/GIS base map production, elevation model creation — all using conventional, Global Positioning System (GPS) and high-definition laser scanning equipment.
Jones’ project experience includes work for some of Cleveland’s large, complex infrastructure projects. Most recently, he provided surveying services for the new westbound I-90 Innerbelt Bridge that spans the Cuyahoga River and provides a vital link to downtown Cleveland. He was also a member of the project team for ODOT’s Opportunity Corridor, a transportation and economic development project aimed at connecting I-490 to the University Circle neighborhood in Cleveland.
Jones has a Bachelor of Science degree in surveying and mapping technology from The University of Akron. He is a member of Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO) and National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). Jones is pre-qualified by ODOT as a Right of Way Plan Designer and Reviewer.
