Leica iCON Software Receives Top 100 New Products of 2012 Award from Construction Equipment Magazine

Leica Geosystems scheduled to feature the latest iCON field software and products to celebrate its first anniversary at this year’s World of Concrete. Booth Number C-5748

(Norcross, Ga., 11 January 2011) Construction Equipment magazine honors Leica Geosystems’ iCON field software package in its annual Top 100 New Products list in the December 2012 issue, recognizing the year’s most innovative new construction equipment and related products.

Featured products are grouped into one of eight categories: heavy earthmoving; light earthmoving; trucking and hauling; paving/compaction/concrete pumps; lifting and material handling; drilling and trenching; light equipment; and ancillary products. Construction Equipment editors choose products that reflect significant improvements, advances in technology, new product lines or features that increase competition in the field.

“Each year, we sift through all the new product announcements, events and other sources to publish information on the most applicable products for our readers,” says Rod Sutton, Construction Equipment editorial director. “Each editor presents his list, and then we decide, as a staff, which 100 to honor.”

The Leica iCON product line and software package made its debut appearance at the 2012 World of Concrete. To celebrate its first anniversary, and in light of iCON’s prestigious recognition, Leica Geosystems readies to launch several new products that incorporate a series of advanced construction solutions.

Among these innovations is the release of the latest version of the Leica iCon software package. This is one of the most highly anticipated enhancements to the iCON portfolio. Unique features and graphical support within the iCON software package allow users to carry out specific tasks on site in an easier, straightforward way.

“The latest version of the iCON software packge enables users of all skill levels to easily adapt to advancements in technology. It enables them to enhance performance by efficiently streamlining the workflow for building, site, and highways contractors,” explains Pat Smith, Leica Geosytems Building & Construction Segment Business Manager.

About the Award
The Top 100 from Construction Equipment magazine is the first awards program in the industry designed to annually recognize the top equipment based on these criteria: advances in technology, new product lines, significant improvements to existing products, or a product that increases competition in its field. The editors of the magazine review every single product that ran in print for the past year and make a case for why it should be chosen. It is a group effort, and outside companies have no input in the selections.
