Matonich was born and raised in Bessemer, Michigan. He spent his youth in the wilderness of the Upper Peninsula. That upbringing instilled in him a love of nature and an appreciation for an honest day’s work and simple pleasures. The book, a collection of stories Matonich has written over the years about life and family, is Matonich’s first. The stories are intended to help you remember special times in your own life and hopefully make you smile.
