Aurora, CO – December 15, 2011 – Merrick announces (www.merrick.com) 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of providing services to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Merrick began working for LANL in 1986 and has continued un-interrupted work there ever since.
Merrick has several subcontracts with LANL to provide a variety of project-based architecture and design engineering services for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and systems. Merrick’s recent contracts include design of special facilities equipment such as gloveboxes, and laboratory spaces for the Chemistry and Metallurgy Research Replacement (CMRR) facility. Work also includes design and construction of system refurbishment and replacement at Technical Area 55 (TA-55), a high hazard nuclear facility; design of an Indoor Firing Range for training LANL’s protective forces; safety evaluations of several thousand pressure systems; experimental equipment design for TA-55; auditorium renovations; a construction lay-down area for CMRR; geotechnical investigations; and finally, aerial surveys. Since 1986 Merrick has provided designs for well over $1B in facility and infrastructure projects at LANL.
Merrick executes most of the work from its Los Alamos, NM office, with additional engineering and design support from the Aurora, Colorado, Albuquerque, NM, and Oak Ridge, TN offices.
