Spatial Energy Announces Distribution Partner Agreement with Valtus

Industry Leading Imagery Providers in the Oil and Gas Market Agree to Provide Comprehensive Geospatial Data through Online Services to the Energy Market in the U.S. and Canada

Boulder, CO., September 20, 2011 – Spatial Energy and Valtus Imagery Services, a division of North West Geomatics Ltd., today announced they have entered into a distribution reseller agreement to expand access to best-in-class data content solutions to the energy market within the United States and Canada. The agreement allows Spatial Energy to resell Valtus’s Views product and direct data access as part of the Spatial Energy’s Spatial on Demand® content offering to customers in the United States. Spatial on Demand and Valtus customers now have access to Valtus content seamlessly integrated into Spatial on Demand imagery services and solutions.

The Valtus Imagery Services online database currently holds over 9 million square kilometers of high resolution imagery across Canada and the United States, including key oil and gas areas in British Columbia and Alberta – such as the Horn River and Montney basin plays. All Valtus data is available through both Views: Spatial Data Access Subscription and the Spatial Data Store. The Views solution is an annual subscription service to the Valtus imagery library that allows real-time streaming of ‘location aware’ imagery data directly into a WMS-enabled GIS application. Additionally, Spatial Energy customers will have access to a large library of LiDAR data across Western Canada.

Spatial on Demand is an online platform used to store, access, query, and retrieve a company’s corporate geospatial data, as well as integrate that data with the largest collection of spatial data specifically built for the global energy industry. The imagery is delivered to global users by web access directly to desktops and it supports Geology, Geophysics, GIS, Land, EHS, and Web applications including Petra, Geographix, Petrel, MESA, Google Earth, Global Energy Mapper, ESRI, and others. The Spatial on Demand hosting service provides secure offsite storage, management and delivery to global users and the spatial data content is the defacto basemap of the energy industry.

“The Valtus/Spatial Energy partnership offers unprecedented oil and gas specific imagery in Canada and the U.S. for our energy customers,” said Bud Pope, President, Spatial Energy. “Our cross border customers will now be able to access the best imagery and elevation data available in energy specific areas, under one agreement, and reduce redundant contracts, costs and data."

“We selected Spatial on Demand for its comprehensive energy-specific content and data management functionality in the U.S and internationally, and because of the growing number of major and independent energy customers that use the solution,” said Tim Crago, Vice President and General Manager, Valtus. “The Spatial Energy expertise within the energy market for geospatial data and services greatly enhances not only the quality of the U.S. data available within our library, but as an authorized reseller, Spatial Energy customers will in turn enjoy a broader, deeper collection of imagery and LiDAR data in Canada for their raster data needs.”
