Topcon’s FC-236 Expands Boundaries for Controllers

New unit has added memory and fast network connectivity

Livermore, Calif. – July 29, 2011 –  Handheld field controller technology has been expanded with the introduction of Topcon Positioning Systems’ (TPS) FC-236, a solid, rugged, powerful receiver and controller with added memory and fast network connectivity.

Scott Langbein, senior product manager, said, “The FC-236 has all the advances available in handheld technology – more memory (4GB) and additional RAM (256 MB) to enable fast software operation.”

The FC-236 has a Microsoft Windows Mobile® operating system and includes a three megapixel autofocus camera, built-in Bluetooth® wireless and 3.5G cellular connectivity. “Users won’t believe how fast they can connect to a GPS network using the FC-236.”

The controller has an industry leading IP67 rating, is waterproof and dustproof, which allows it to operate efficiently in the harshest of conditions.
