Lu Engineers Hires Mitch Smith

Lu Engineers hires Mitch Smith to the firm’s environmental department.

Rochester, NY – May 25, 2011 – The success and reputation of the firm’s environmental department has led to the need for additional staff. With this new growth, the firm proudly announces the hire of Mitch Smith to the Lu Engineers asbestos consulting team.

Mitch brings over 20 years of experience to the team and is no stranger to the firm having worked at Lu Engineers in previous years. “It’s nice to see so many of the same people still here”, Mitch says. “Everyone has been so hospitable and welcoming. It’s almost as if I never left.”

Mitch’s immediate role will be to help staff the firm’s New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Asbestos Consulting Term Agreement for Regions 3, 4, 5, & 6. Mitch has significant experience with the NYSDOT having worked on this contract in his previous employment.

Mitch is certified by the New York State Department of Health and the Environmental Protection Agency as an asbestos project designer, building inspector, project monitor and air sampling technician. Mr. Smith is qualified to perform building assessments, bulk sampling, design, and air and project monitoring for asbestos abatement projects. He also has experience in performing environmental audits and site assessments, which includes site inspections, interviews, research and report writing.
