Trimble to Showcase Construction Software Solutions at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011

Manage Fleets and Assets, Perform Takeoff and Data Prep, Optimize Road Alignments, Collaborate and Connect the Field to the Office with Software Powered by Trimble

Trimble will be demonstrating its complete portfolio of Heavy and Highway software solutions in the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 Software Pavilion Booth # H31611. Trimble provides software solutions that span the entire construction process for civil engineers, data managers, equipment managers, estimators, general contractors, senior executives, site engineers and site supervisors. The suite includes Business Center—HCE powered by Trimble, Connected Community powered by Trimble, VisionLink™ powered by Trimble and Trimble® Quantm™ Desktop. Hourly live software demonstrations will provide information about how Trimble Heavy and Highway software solutions can help reduce costs and increase productivity in the office and on the construction job site.

Business Center—HCE
Business Center—Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) is desktop software used by contractors, civil engineers, estimators and data managers to prepare data and designs, and perform materials quantity takeoff and bid preparation for heavy and highway construction projects. In addition, Business Center – HCE manages data for machines and site positioning instruments, routes data to and from operators and field crews, and tracks and analyzes site activity and productivity.

Connected Community
Connected Community is a Web-based service that allows construction businesses to manage and share real-time information via their own unique Website. The backbone of Trimble’s two-way data synchronization between the office and the construction job site, Connected Community is a secure platform that gives contractors, data managers, equipment managers and site supervisors the ability to send Business Center—HCE designs wirelessly to machines and receive productivity data back from the field. Using Connected Community, contractors can connect their base station infrastructure to field crews using Wi-Fi or cellular networks and receive real-time RTK positions without the need for multiple base stations. By hosting all of an organization’s information centrally, the Connected Community also provides local and remote project stakeholders at all levels with near real-time visibility into site operations and progress, significantly improving decision making and increasing efficiency and productivity.

VisionLink
VisionLink can help centralize and simplify the management of mixed fleet, on-site operations. Managers can improve logistics for fuel, transportation or service dispatch by monitoring equipment locations and key machine parameters, as well as track specific equipment over a defined time period with maps and customizable views. Fuel usage, machine health and utilization can be monitored and analyzed to reduce owning and operating costs. By bringing the office and the machine together with real-time machine data senior executives, fleet managers and rental equipment managers can make better decisions to maximize efficiency, raise productivity and lower costs for the entire fleet.

Trimble Quantm Desktop
Quantm Desktop helps contractors, road planners and engineers select and generate 3D corridors and road alignments. Using unique route optimization technology, Quantm generates alternative costed alignments and returns a range of the 5-20 best options for review. Alignments can be optimized for vertical and/or horizontal location to minimize the cost of construction. Ideal for planning haul roads, the software can help contractors reduce project planning time and substantially lower construction costs.
