Easy-to-Use, Highly Flexible Machine Control Technology at a Very Affordable Price Point

Sunnyvale, Calif., March 7, 2011 –Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) introduced today a new category of machine control designed for excavators—the Trimble® GCSFlex™ Grade Control System. The GCSFlex is designed to offer small to mid-sized contractors a reliable, flexible and affordable option to leverage machine control technology and make contractors more competitive.

The Trimble GCSFlex Grade Control System will be featured at ConExpo 2011, one of the world’s largest international exhibitions for the construction and construction materials industries.

The new Trimble GCSFlex Grade Control System for excavators is designed to meet the needs and budgets of owner operators and small to mid-sized contractors involved in a range of earthmoving. The rugged system is easy-to-install, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use. Using the GCSFlex more contractors can realize the business benefits of Trimble machine control technology to increase productivity and become more competitive.

The Trimble GCSFlex System is highly flexible with several sensor options that allow the contractor to easily use the system for a variety of jobsite tasks. Contractors can start with the low cost “system in a case” solution and add additional sensors for increased system capabilities as their needs change. Installation can be done by the contractor and typically takes less than a couple of hours—allowing the contractor to be up and running very quickly. With a fast install time and no welding or drilling, the system is ideal for non-permanent installation on rental machines.

Designed for small to mid-sized excavators, the Trimble GCSFlex Grade Control System can be used for a broad range of work including: trenching for underground utilities; digging footers and basements; building roads; and site prep on residential, commercial and industrial jobsites. The system leverages the same rugged components that are used as part of the field-proven Trimble GCS900 3D Grade Control Systems.

The reliable Trimble GCSFlex is affordable and offers high value for the investment. Now more contractors can realize the business benefits of Trimble machine control technology on their jobs at a price point that fits their budget with the guarantee of the Trimble brand.

The GCSFlex System will be available March 22, 2011 through Trimble’s SITECH® Technology Dealer channel and other Heavy and Highway dealers.
