QC Module Being Demonstrated at ILMF Conference in New Orleans
Aurora, Colorado – February 7, 2011 – Merrick & Company (www.merrick.com), a world leader in light detection and ranging (LiDAR), digital orthophotography, and hyperspectral mapping, is pleased to announce the release of its new, automated LiDAR data quality control (QC) module. Integrated within Version 7.0 of the Merrick Advanced Remote Sensing (MARS®) software suite, the new module will provide users with a fully automated QC process for the verification of compliance to the v13 LiDAR Specification from the US Geological Survey (USGS).
“Our new QC module is an efficient tool for reviewing and accepting LiDAR datasets. Its ability to automate this tedious process not only saves time, but allows the user to thoroughly analyze data deliverables against more than 25 standards within the USGS specification. Users can customize each QC session by selecting individual specification standards for review. Going forward, we plan to extend the QC functionality to support LiDAR specifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other organizations,” stated Bill Emison, MARS® Product Manager.
The new QC module will be demonstrated publicly this week at the International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. MARS® software demonstrations will be conducted at Merrick & Company’s exhibit at ILMF (Booth #42). Additional product information and a free, 30-day trial software download is available at www.merrick.com/MARS.
