Dr. Kam Movassaghi, President of Fenstermaker, recently announced the appointment of David Cormier as the firm’s new Director of Houston Operations. In this position at Fenstermaker, Mr. Cormier will carry his 30 plus years of experience and knowledge in energy survey practices to lead and expand Fenstermaker’s team in the Houston office. Mr. Cormier has specialized in business development for energy concerns in Houston for the past four years and will be integral in leading the firm’s expansion into South and West Texas. Adept at managing and mentoring fellow professionals, Mr. Cormier expresses a strong desire and optimism to see Fenstermaker’s Houston office grow in all areas, as well as increase Fenstermaker’s market share in the region.
Mr. Cormier is familiar with Fenstermaker and its objectives, as he worked for the firm from 1979-2006. Before re-joining the Fenstermaker team to lead the Houston office, he held titles of Project Manager/PLS, Field Coordinator, and Party Chief at the company. In those positions, he managed projects for Oil & Gas activities, assumed responsibility for day-to-day work of multiple survey crews, coordinated interactions between field and office personnel, and successfully completed field work while ensuring crew safety. Mr. Cormier received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Civil Engineering Technology Louisiana Technical College in 1979 and is also a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the states of Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
Mr. Cormier is a member of many professional organizations, including the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors, the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, Pipeliners Association of Houston, and Louisiana Pipeliners Association. He is also involved with the Houston Association of Professional Landmen and the Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen. Mr. Cormier has received certification from several sources, including the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), Basic Plus Safety Training from ARSC RECIPROCAL, and the Johnson Space Center Safety Training.
