Montgomery & Barnes, Inc. Now Qualifies as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business

Houston, TX – August 24, 2010 – Gary Montgomery, Chairman of the Board of Montgomery & Barnes, Inc., a Houston based civil engineering and consulting services firm, is pleased to announce that President Wendell (Buddy) Barnes (pictured) is now majority owner. This has enabled the firm to qualify as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Mr. Montgomery will remain as Chairman of the Board.

“Buddy’s leadership and expertise continues to help us expand into new markets, and this new SDVOSB status of Montgomery & Barnes gives us the opportunity to enter into the Federal market, an initiative that we embraced when Buddy joined the firm,” said Montgomery.

The Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Initiative was created to help provide more opportunities in federal contracting for SDVOSBs.  Expanding business opportunities was a way to honor the men and women who, throughout history, have served proudly and courageously in our Armed Forces.
