Firm’s Highest Ranking Ever
Lancaster, Pa. — RETTEW, an engineering, planning and environmental consulting firm, recently ranked among Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) list of top 500 design firms in the country. RETTEW’s ranking on ENR’s list jumped 41 spots since last year, coming in at 436 and the firm’s highest ranking ever. ENR ranks companies based on the previous year’s revenue for design services; RETTEW has ranked among the top 500 firms for 9 out of the last 11 years.
“Improving our ENR ranking by 41 spots in one year is proof of our ability to tailor our services to new and emerging markets,” said Mark Lauriello, PE, president, RETTEW.
RETTEW’s revenue in the energy and utilities market increased nearly 115 percent between 2008 and 2009, primarily as a result of ongoing demand for engineering and environmental consulting services, including water resource management and permitting services, the firm provides to national and international clients involved in natural gas exploration and midstream activities in the Marcellus Shale region. Based on its 2010 revenue projections, RETTEW expects its growth in the energy market to continue.
RETTEW held fairly steady in the transportation and municipal markets as well; future growth in these markets will be largely dependent upon the availability of continued public funding sources. As expected, the firm’s revenues from the residential housing market decreased, but RETTEW witnessed increased demand for services to support the expansion and upgrade of the telecommunications infrastructure.
