Fujiyama Purchases UltraCamLp in Japan

Graz, Austria — June 24, 2010 — Fujiyama Co., Ltd., has contracted with Vexcel Imaging GmbH, a Microsoft company, to purchase an UltraCamLp medium-format camera system. The deal was brokered by Vexcel Imaging reseller Mirukuro Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo, Japan.

”Fujiyama was impressed with the high quality data produced by the UltraCamLp digital camera system,” said Munenori Nishida, Technical Manager of Airborne Survey Department at Fujiyama. “After comparing the available systems, we decided the UltraCamLp provided us with the best performance/price ratio to meet our digital aerial mapping needs.”

The UltraCamLp photogrammetric medium-format digital aerial camera provides a reliable and economical solution for producing image data of excellent quality. Taking advantage of the large-format camera concept that has proven successful with the UltraCamX, UltraCamXp and UltraCamXp Wide Angle, the UltraCamLp offers the same geometric accuracy and dynamic range to the medium-format market.

“We are very pleased to announce the sale of a Vexcel Imaging camera system to Fujiyama,” said Alexander Wiechert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH. “The UltraCamLp will be an excellent addition to Fujiyama’s camera resources, enabling the company to provide a variety of aerial survey and civil engineering services.”

About the UltraCamLp
The UltraCamLp features an impressive collection footprint of 92 megapixels (11,704 x 7,920 pixels pan) compared to the UltraCamL 64-megapixel format. This image format capability is made possible through new electronics and a smaller CCD array of just 6 µm. The system is ideal for smaller large-scale and photogrammetric projects, high-resolution (true) orthophoto production, DSM (digital surface model) production, aerotriangulation, corridor mapping, and lidar integration.
