ScanEx Research & Development Center will take part in the Annual conference of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) “Opportunities for Emerging Geospatial Technologies”. The conference, which is to take place in San-Diego, California from 26 till 30 April 2010, is one of the largest international events in sphere of satellite imagery and spatial data.
ScanEx RDC will present modern Russian technology innovations in satellite imagery (poster booth #703). The company specialists will tell about the possibilities of the proprietary ground complex for Earth observation data reception, processing and archiving. Nowadays the universal small-size “UniScan” ground receiving stations are the backbones of the contemporary centers of space monitoring in Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Spain, Kazakhstan (a national network has been created), UAE, USA, etc.
Within the frames of the ASPRS 2010 conference ScanEx specialists will demonstrate own software for handling satellite images and will consult about the issues of initial and in-depth processing of the remote sensing data. Visitors of the booth #703 will be able to learn the specifics and to appraise the advantages of operations with special software applications:
• ScanMagic® — an easy-to-use and multifunctional software application for Earth observation data viewing, analyzing and processing, as well as for cataloging space imaging results.
• ScanEx Image Processor® — a powerful software application for visualization, in-depth analysis and thematic processing of optical and radar imagery data. The application has a modular structure and is an efficient tool to resolve a wide range of applied tasks.
• Thematic Pro® — an add-on module of ScanEx Image Processor, intended for thematic interpretation of spatial data. During the source remote sensing data processing the application enables to use both traditional (visualization, filtration, generation of new images through calculations) and up-to-date methods applying adaptive algorithms based on Kohonen artificial neural networks.
— other software.
About ScanEx
Nowadays the Russian technologies in sphere of space imaging, that have been developed over 20 years by the ScanEx RDC specialists, gained recognition on the local and international markets. Integrating the multi-year experience, the company specialists generated and introduced an integrated network technology of multi-satellite monitoring of targets, processes and phenomena called ScanNet. The technology is built on the concept of coordinated imagery management and flow processing of near real-time imagery data received from several high resolution satellites. In order to implement the ScanNet concept the ScanEx Center built its own network of four data reception and processing centers in Moscow, Megion, Irkutsk and Magadan, equipped with universal small-size “UniScan” stations, which enable reception of data from 15 modern remote sensing satellites at rates up to 320 megabit/sec (in one channel). Solution to the problem of “harmonizing” joint processing and analysis of images acquired by SAR and optical sensors of different spatial resolution required development and verification of specific procedural and software approaches on the basis of ScanEx Image Processor software application. ScanNet-based complex application of operational data provided by several Earth remote sensing missions and operational delivery of data to the customers through geoportals leads to success in achieving objectives pertaining to monitoring of emergencies (floods, fires, etc), as well as development dynamics of regions and urban areas, controlling forest management and new facilities construction, remote monitoring of navigation and maritime environmental situation in several seas surrounding Russia.
