Dewberry Welcomes Expertise of John Moynier

Professional services firm gains new western regional vice president 

Fairfax, VA—November 5, 2009 – Dewberry, a privately-held professional services firm, has named John Moynier as western regional vice president of management and consulting services in the firm’s Sacramento, California, location. In his new role, Moynier will be responsible for coordinating the firm’s business development and operational activities throughout the western United States.

Moynier has more than 30 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors. He has been involved in extensive contracts throughout the architecture and engineering industry, including numerous high-profile water resources projects in California. His project work includes the FloodSAFE and the Central Valley Floodplain Evaluation and Delineation programs for the California Department of Water Resources, the San Vicente Dam raise/carry-over storage project for San Diego County Water Authority, the Long-Term Facilities Plan for the Orange County Water District, and the Mammoth Lakes Recycled Water Program for the Mammoth Community Water District. Moynier has regularly participated in targeted advocacy efforts and public outreach programs on behalf of clients at the local, state, and federal level.

Moynier earned a master’s degree in computer-assisted cartography and a bachelor’s degree in conservation and analysis of ecosystems from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as certificates in land use and environmental planning and business administration from University of California, Davis. He is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), and a recognized expert in the development of environmental analyses under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).  He is an active member of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), Floodplain Management Association (FMA), Environmental Water Resources Institute (EWRI), and Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and serves as water resources chair for the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP).
