RETTEW Expands Presence in Northeastern PA

Promotes Bubeck, Welcomes Madison, Adds Bethlehem Office

Lancaster, Pa. – RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm providing engineering, transportation, environmental consulting, planning and surveying services, recently strengthened its presence in Pennsylvania’s northeastern region. The firm promoted Clayton E. Bubeck, PE, to regional vice president for northeastern Pa.; welcomed Ronald B. Madison, PE, as senior project manager, environmental engineering; and opened a new office at 701 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, Pa.

Clayton E. Bubeck, PE
As vice president of RETTEW’s northeastern Pa. region, Bubeck is responsible for overseeing the firm’s Schuylkill Haven office and new Bethlehem office and leading overall business development efforts in northeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He works with other members of RETTEW’s leadership team to ensure regional clients receive stellar service and project delivery, and he is involved in business development regarding RETTEW’s services that  support natural gas exploration and midstream activities in the Marcellus Shale play.

RETTEW welcomed Bubeck in 2000 as a project engineer in the firm’s environmental engineering group and subsequently promoted him to group manager and later regional manager. He has nearly 14 years of professional experience, which includes designing two award-winning abandoned mine drainage (AMD) treatment systems that have helped to improve the area’s waterways by effectively remediating the AMD coming from abandoned coal mines. In 2007, RETTEW named Bubeck shareholder of the firm, recognizing his efforts to raise the firm’s regional visibility and foster key client relationships.

A native of Schuylkill County, Bubeck has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from Wilkes University and is a member of the Pa. Water Environment Association, the Eastern Pa. Water Pollution Control Operators Association and the Central Pa. Water Quality Association. He also chairs the Schuylkill Headwaters Association’s membership committee and is an active member of the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Southern Schuylkill County, Schuylkill Haven Area Business and Professionals Association and the Schuylkill Haven Island Park Committee. He resides in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.   

Ronald B. Madison, PE
Working primarily from RETTEW’s Bethlehem and Schuylkill Haven office locations, Madison is senior project manager in the firm’s environmental engineering group. He is responsible for developing and furthering the firm’s relationships and business with municipalities and municipal authorities in RETTEW’s northeastern Pa. region. Madison oversees RETTEW’s regional environmental engineering operations, ensuring accurate and timely service delivery and client satisfaction. His focus also includes coaching and mentoring staff.

Madison brings to RETTEW more than 22 years of experience in managing all aspects of municipal, private, commercial and industrial projects. His expertise includes conceptual planning and design for new projects and guiding projects through the municipal permitting and approval process and construction and start-up phases. Madison has designed water distribution, wastewater collection and conveyance and water/wastewater treatment facilities, and he is well versed in stormwater management, including best management practices (BMP) facilities, Act 167 stormwater modeling for infiltration, detention and retention and HEC-RAS floodplain analysis. He has managed multiple projects for soil erosion and sedimentation control design and NPDES permitting. In addition to his professional engineer registration, he is a certified waterworks operator and sewage treatment plant operator in Pa. 

Madison holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from Lehigh University. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Lehigh Valley Chapter, and the Water Resources Association of the Delaware River Basin. He resides in Bethlehem, Northampton County, enjoys coaching baseball, softball and basketball and is involved with the Lehigh Little League.
