Aurora, CO – September 11, 2009 – Under an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, Merrick & Company has been providing geospatial data collection and analysis services to the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) for all or part of 16 counties covering an area of approximately 10,000 square miles. SWFWMD is one of five regional districts in Florida charged with preserving and protecting the state’s natural resources for the people through water resource development, regulatory activities, and other programs. Under this current task order, Merrick is collecting digital aerial imagery over a project area of approximately 3,000 square miles. The digital aerial imagery was collected with an ADS digital sensor and provided to the District at a one-foot pixel resolution as a 4-band stack, 32-bit natural color and infrared imagery that was FGDC compliant. The imagery will be used as part of the District’s overall water management program.
