Langan Expands in Southern California

Leading Land Development Engineering and Environmental Consulting Firm Totals 12 Locations in 8 States

Elmwood Park, New Jersey and Irvine, California (June 30, 2009) – Langan Engineering & Environmental Services officially announced its expanded West Coast and California presence with the addition of  its Irvine office located at 18662 MacArthur Boulevard.  The firm now has 12 offices in eight states: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Virginia, Florida, Nevada, and California, as well as international locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Athens.

The Langan Principal in Charge of the firm’s Southern California office is Rudolph P. Frizzi, PE, GE, who is also the current President of the Deep Foundations Institute.  The new office operations are led by Dan R. Eberhart, PG, CEG, who joins Langan as an Associate, and Diane Fiorelli, PE, LEED AP, an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley.  Eberhart possesses vast geologic experience in California and throughout the Southwest.  In his 38 years of practice in California and beyond, he has led major projects including commercial, industrial, residential, recreational, and institutional developments, as well as highways, water development and reclamation, dam sites, reservoirs, and pipelines.

“Opening an office in California is a milestone that signifies Langan’s ability to support clients from coast to coast with our unmatched mix of integrated engineering and environmental services,” said David T. Gockel, President/CEO of Langan, who is also an alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley. “Under Rudy Frizzi’s leadership and with the addition of Dan Eberhart, our California team is sure to achieve success by delivering superior results to our clients.”

For nearly four decades, Langan has experienced steady growth and most recently expanded its practice geographically in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and West Coast regions.  The firm’s growth and expansion has occurred organically without merger or acquisition.

“For several years, we have been working on projects in California and throughout the Southwest, which is a region that has always interested Langan,” said Frizzi. “Our business reached the appropriate critical mass to expand in California. The addition of Dan Eberhart greatly augments Langan’s technical expertise and local knowledge in that state and throughout the West Coast.”
