Colyer Joins Clary & Associates as Junior Crew Chief

Jacksonville, Fla. (April 29, 2009) Jacksonville-based professional surveying and mapping firm Clary & Associates has hired Cliff Colyer as a junior crew chief.

“We’re pleased to have someone of Cliff’s caliber and experience on the Clary Team,” said firm founder and CEO Greg Clary. “His previous work in Jacksonville, along with his experience working with engineering firms, will be put to good use on our projects in northeast Florida.”

Colyer previously worked as a crew chief with Watkins Engineering in Troy, Alabama and as a junior crew chief with Barry Surveying in Jacksonville, Florida. He started in the surveying profession in 2001, when he worked as a rodman and instrument man at Bailey Engineering in Anniston, Alabama.

Colyer has worked on several subdivision projects in his career, including Phase 3 of Hunter Ridge in Enterprise, Florida, where he conducted work from boundary and topography to laying out roads and lots in the subdivision. He also worked on the Jamestown Subdivision in Anniston, Alabama and the Highland Lakes Subdivision in Oxford, Alabama.

Colyer is a native of Anniston, Alabama. He attended Jacksonville State University and Southern Union Community College. He received his Bachelor of Science in Geomatics from Troy University in 2008. He passed the national Fundamentals of Land Surveying exam and is a registered land surveyor intern. He also holds a Surveyor in Training designation from the State of Florida.
